On Thursday 25 June, the presentation of the launch of the third session of the Astrolabe science project for term 3 was held, aimed at Year 9 students.
As a reminder, groups of students will develop a science project.
These projects are shared between two research fields: biology and physical sciences, and will focus on the mission of the French Navy's polar patrol vessel Astrolabe, which supplies the French Antarctic and Austral Territories (TAAF) and the French Polar Institute's (IPEV) Dumont D'Urville station in Antarctica.
Messrs LE QUILLIEC and ARNAUDON, the Defence Attachés, Mrs BOULET-GILLY and Mr BOISSENIN, in charge of scientific cooperation/cultural service at the French Embassy, and the teachers Mrs SIAKIMOTU and Mrs CORNOLTI were present during this presentation as well as about fifty students from the French and Australian streams.
A video, made during the trip to Tasmania with last year's winning teams, was also screened:
We warmly thank the teams of the French Embassy for their support and for covering the cost of the project.
