On 26 March 2019, as part of the Energy unit in Science this term, all Year 8 students had a wonderful presentation from Prof Kenneth Baldwin from The Research School of Physics and Engineering ANU on 26 March 2019. He is also Director of the Energy Change Institute at the ANU, and Deputy Director of the Research School of Physics and Engineering ANU. He spoke about the energy change requirements to ensure future supply of energy specially for Australia and students had the most amazing questions indicating their engagement with the speaker and their future.

On 2 April 2019, Year 9 students at Telopea Park School had an excellent presentation from Dr John Evans. He is currently the Chief Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Translational Photosynthesis which is researching photosynthesis with the aim of increasing the yield of important food crops to address global food shortages in a changing world climate. It was very evident from questions from the students about their engagement with the topic and their future.

On 4 April, Dr Rose Ahlefeldt-ACT Young Scientist of the Year 2018 came to Telopea Park School to present to for Quantum Year 8, 9 and 10 and EFS 9-10 students and parents and staff members about her search in trying to find the right materials to build the quantum memories needed for quantum computers.
