Telopea Park School senior school has a Priority Enrolment Area (PEA). Check your eligibility for enrolment at our school.
New enrolments are subject to the standard ACT Education Directorate enrolment policy and criteria. The school is Category A for enrolment purposes, which means it has limited capacity to enrol applicants from outside its PEA.

French stream

Year 7 to 10
Applicants seeking to study in French at Telopea Park School years 7 to 10 will require sufficient level of French language skills to access the curriculum.
New applicants are students who have not come through year 6 at Telopea Park School.
Applicants must have French language knowledge and ability to understand maths in French and will be assessed against ONE of the following criteria according to their French language learning background:
- Previous schooling in French – public or private French schools, Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) School (concurrent enrolment with no gap of more than 6 months) or
- Previous schooling in other school with evidence of subjects taught in French (year level placement tests required if year level grades are at basic or intermediate level) or
- No previous schooling with evidence of subjects taught in French (year level placement tests required if year level grades are at basic or intermediate level).
For internal assessment purposes applicants will be scored out of 80 against the criteria under which they are assessed. Applicants will be advised in their outcome letter the criterion under which their application was assessed and their score.

Senior school applicants who meet the criteria will be enrolled up to the limit of places available.
Where there is more demand than capacity applicants will be prioritised by:
- Assessment score against the criteria.
- Proximity to the school as the crow flies, with students living closer prioritised over those living further away.
New year 7 to 10 applicants may be assessed against the criteria as having insufficient language skills to successfully access curriculum in French. These applicants will be ranked ‘ineligible’ to enrol in the French language program at Telopea Park School and will receive an offer from their PEA school and have the right to Review and Appeal the decision.
Students continuing to high school from Telopea Park School year 6
Continuing Telopea Park School year 6 students:
- are not required to reapply to be enrolled in year 7 at the school.
- are not required to be assessed against the year 7 to 10 French Stream criteria to be enrolled in the program.
- will be prioritised over new enrolment applicants to the French Stream where capacity is limited.
- who do not wish continue into the year 7 French Stream, or who enrol and subsequently withdraw from the year 7-10 French Stream at any point, may continue in the Australian Stream at Telopea Park School (years 7-10) if they wish. They also continue to be guaranteed a place at their PEA school or may apply to any other ACT public school.
